Groningen is known for its vibrant student culture and active sports community. In recent years, dodgeballhas carved out its own niche in the city — and Gron's Dodgeball is leading the charge as Groningen's first dedicated foam dodgeball club.
Unlike traditional rubber dodgeball, foam dodgeball uses soft, lightweight balls that make the game accessible and safe for everyone — from complete beginners to seasoned athletes. The result is a fast-paced, inclusive sport that anyone can enjoy from day one.
About Gron's Dodgeball
Gron's Dodgeball organizes weekly sessions in the heart of Groningen. Games are held at our venue on Violenstraat, making it easy to reach by bike or on foot from anywhere in the city. Each session lasts about 1.5 to 2 hours and includes warm-ups, team games, and plenty of action.
We welcome players of all skill levels. Whether you've never touched a dodgeball or you're a regular, you'll fit right in. Our community is friendly, diverse, and always happy to see new faces.
How the Credit System Works
Instead of a traditional subscription, Gron's Dodgeball uses a flexible credit system. Here's how it works:
- Purchase credits through your account on our website.
- Each session costs a set number of credits.
- Sign up for the sessions that fit your schedule — no commitment to a fixed day.
- Credits don't expire, so you play at your own pace.
This system is perfect for students and young professionals who want flexibility without being locked into a monthly membership.
When and Where to Play
Sessions run on multiple days throughout the week, with both evening slots and occasional weekend games. Check the schedule on our website for up-to-date times and availability. Spots are limited per session to keep the games fun and well-organized, so signing up in advance is recommended.
Our location on Violenstraat is centrally located and easily accessible. There are changing facilities available, and all equipment (including foam balls) is provided — just bring your sportswear and indoor shoes.
Community & Afterdodge
What sets Gron's Dodgeball apart isn't just the sport — it's the community. Many of our players have formed lasting friendships through the club. After each session, players often head out together for drinks or food in what we call "afterdodge."It's a great way to unwind, get to know your fellow players, and become part of the group.
