How does dodgeball help me meet new people?

Teams are reshuffled every few rounds, so you play with — and against — everyone in the room over the course of a session. After 90 minutes, you've interacted with dozens of people. Many of our players have formed genuine friendships through dodgeball.

Most of our players come alone. The team format means you are never on your own — you're immediately part of a team. Coming solo is actually the best way to meet new people, because you're open to connecting with anyone.

Is this a good option for expats?

Absolutely. Sessions are in English, the community is international, and dodgeball requires no language or cultural knowledge to enjoy. Many of our regular players are international students or professionals who moved to Groningen.

Is it more social than a gym?

Yes. At a gym, you train individually with headphones on. At dodgeball, you are constantly communicating, strategising, and laughing with your teammates. It is the difference between exercising alone and playing together.

Do you organise social events outside of dodgeball?

Yes! Our community regularly organises drinks, social gatherings, and other activities. The WhatsApp group is always buzzing. Dodgeball is the sport, but the community is the reason people stay.
