Our Story
Gron's Dodgeball was founded in 2025 with a simple idea: make foam dodgeball accessible to everyone. As the Netherlands' first foam dodgeball club, we set out to create something that did not exist yet — a place where people of all backgrounds and fitness levels could come together, throw some foam balls, and have a great time.
What started as a small group of enthusiasts has quickly grown into a thriving community of players who show up week after week for the energy, the laughs, and the competition. From the very first session, it was clear that there was a hunger for this kind of sport in Groningen — something social, active, and refreshingly different from the traditional sports club model.

We exclusively use soft foam balls, making every session safe, pain-free, and welcoming for complete newcomers.

Our Mission
We believe sport should be fun first. Our mission is to make dodgeball the most accessible and enjoyable recreational sport in the Netherlands. We remove the barriers that keep people from being active: no memberships, no long-term commitments, no pressure to perform. Just show up and play.
Traditional sports clubs often demand a level of commitment that does not work for everyone — fixed training schedules, yearly memberships, competitive expectations. We flipped that model. At Gron's, you buy credits when you want and use them when it suits you. Life is busy enough; your sport should fit around you, not the other way around.
Community First
At Gron's, the community is everything. Our players come from all walks of life — students, young professionals, expats, and locals. What brings them together is the shared experience of an incredibly fun, high-energy sport that does not take itself too seriously. Many of our players have formed friendships that extend far beyond the court.

We work with Sport Service Providers to connect with the Groningen sports infrastructure and access quality facilities.

Our collaboration with 050 Sport helps us reach new audiences across Groningen and embed dodgeball in the local sports landscape.
Dodgeball Nederland
As a partner of the national dodgeball federation, we contribute to growing the sport nationally and link recreational players to the wider community.

Groningen is the perfect city for a community like ours — young, active, and always open to trying something new. Our sessions take place at sports halls across the city, making it easy for anyone in Groningen to join. As we grow, our ambition is to inspire foam dodgeball communities in cities across the Netherlands.
